Jesus gave us some amazing verses Mark 11:24 says “I say unto you, whatever things you desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Another is Matt 7:7 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”
There are others, but we believe and trust Jesus, so what do we do with these verses? There are some others in the New Testament that are equally as good.
In 1 John 5:14 and Hebrews 4:16, we need to be bold before the creator and sustainer. And ask and if it is to His kingdom and work , it will be done.
And in Colossians 3:10 reads we are a new man, renewed in knowledge after His image. Wow do we understand that same power Jesus had, we do too. The too in Phil 4:13, we can do all things through Christ, who strengtheneth me. And in verse 19 God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. Why do we just hold back from what He has for us?
Some other verses are, 1 Cor 2:9, Eph 3:17-21 and be filled with the fullness of God. We are so missing the boat. He wants to give but we are not willing to take. Thinking, we are not good enough or it does not really mean that, or is satan blinding our eyes and minds?
And my final thought comes from James 1:5,6. If we lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to ALL men liberally, and it shall be given him. Not a chosen few but all who ask. If we made use of that power, we could turn the world up side down and send the demons running. We need to grab hold of this awesome power and use it for His glory and kingdom.
God seeks out the prophet to warn the people. They have followed after other gods and turned from the True God who has provided all their needs. And telling Jeremiah that if they continue He with raise up a nation to take their place.
Is He looking at us Christians in the same light? Have we slipped away for His grace and love to be too busy for Him? We need so badly to ask forgiveness and turn back to Him. For He is the Greatest of all and this world is just a moment in the scope of eternity. And will we be the ones He will lead the call for the Kingdom?
Let us never turn our backs on the Greatest and the reason we are even here. Pray believe trust and have faith in the Great I Am.
Hebrews 11 a key chapter in faith. The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith from our viewpoint as Christians, is a gift from God nothing of us or from us. A belief in and devotion to “God”. And without faith it is impossible to please Him and God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him, v 6.
So as our faith deepens and we seek Him, He will richly reward our seeking Him and I feel that is whereHis heart and longing is for us to know Him in a deeper way.
With each name mentioned in Hebrews 11. Simple humans like us but would grasp for the unknown. Noah built an ark even if earth had seen no rain, in faith of His God. Abraham and Sarah even beyond child being years had faith their God would make a great nation. Joseph , Moses had tough spells but they still hung on to their faith in God that what He promised them would come to pass.
Even Rahab with her past saw the power of the God of Israel and hid the spies lied to the guards and she along with the spies returned safe.
Each one has a unique story of their faith in a Great God. We here today can be the same amazing story if we have faith and trust in the unknown that God places in our path.
Just a few thoughts. Why did God allow Pilate to free Barabbas?
The name means, 2 parts Bar-son and Abba is father. So son of the father. And not just any son but Abba’s son, a closer connection.
So God allowed a man from the Rome insurrection to be set free and Jesus died in his place, just as He did for all mankind. So that we could be with Him forever with no end, wow.
The Greek has 2 words for the Word. Logos is the written Word of God. We have the Bible full of the written Word of our God. The second is Rhema and is the spoken Word of God. Rhema needs the written Word to use as it were a platform.
Logos is the knowledge and understanding or the generator. Then Rhema is the action to put the generator into motion. The faith and believe put action into the Word.
We see examples in the gospels that give us a clearer picture of it. Take Luke 5:5 , Jesus gets in the boat to give His audience a better view , later He tells the men to go to the deeper water. Now these season fishermen knew going deep was not the answer, but Peter said we have toiled all night and caught nothing, but at Your Word, I will let down the net. Suddenly the miracle takes place, the net is full and 2 boats needed to haul in a full net. Peter suddenly realizes the power and him and his friends follow Jesus.
Some other passages are Luke 8:45, Matt 8:8 9:22 and John 22:6. And other passages in the NT are Romans 10:8,9,17 Eph 2:8-10 Phil 2:12 Heb 11:2
A few to give you an idea that there is power in the Rhema, see what else or ideas you have.
I began to ponder that thought. In Genesis 2:7 it reads ” And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”
What could all be detailed in the action perform at the birth of the sinnless man? I started to dig and think, so between the Bible , books and Gods help, I have come up with some thoughts. You can add to or correct me , I would be eager to hear your ideas too.
His breath, that was breath into Adam and therefore to all humans. Was His righteousness and holiness. Directly from God Himself was the ability to closely commune with Him. And God saw that it was good.
But then the fall of man broke that connection, to be restored at our converision. Colossians 2:9,10 ” For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him……. again. Holiness restored as Eph. 4:24 says the new man brings back the righteousness and true holiness.
And with that forming of Adam and Gods breath the mind came into play here to. Adam named all the animals, again a big part of God involved in naming the animals. The brain we can’t duplicate it even yet, far to complex. We can tell a computer to do a task but first it has to be programmed.
And the final thought is His breath in us lives on and on , even as unsaved , Gods breath and all it entails lives on. And where that will lead is up to our free will. Any thoughts to add or revisit are more than welcome.
The early church started a good idea in Acts 20:7 it says ” and on the first day of the week… came together to break bread.
Where did we go? It is an amazing time to have fellowship , for the cost of our salvation and reflect on His love for us.
In most churches it is tacted on the end of the service , with no real deep reflection on His work for us.
Our pastor centers his whole sermon around that most beautiful plan God gave us to remember the costly price paid for us. Praise goes to Jehovah
