The Cross, two thieves and our Saviour

Amazing what our God can do if we are willing. The gospel of Luke gives us the best incite into the greatest thief who hanging on the cross, saw the most beautiful sight of the sinless one in the middle !

Luke 23:39 says the one mocking Jesus. ” If thou be the Christ, save yourself and us.”  :40  says the other rebukes him and says, ” Dost thou not fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?  :41 And we indeed, justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds. But this man has done nothing amiss.”  He is starting to see the true picture and start to witness to the other.

:42,43 says ” Said to Jesus, LORD, remember me when thou comest into THY KINGDOM.”  And Jesus said unto him ” Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in Paradise.”

Wow a lot took place in those fleeting minutes. A soul got saved. So let’s look at the way it transpired. (1) he saw the justice of his own punishment , we also have sin that needs the blood of Christ. (2) he saw the sinless character of Christ, as well we needed a sinless one to pay for our sin. (3) the Deity of Christ, we also must see God for who He truly is ! (4) a living Christ beyond the grave, his words tell us that , and we know death or Hell could not hold Him! (5) and he sensed there was a KINGDOM and Jesus as the King !!

He didn’t need the 4 spiritual laws to be saved. I think God saw a ready heart and helped him to see deeper. So remember the harvest is ripe, we need to reach out God will give us an opportunity and the words, just trust Him !!
